The Bixby Knolls is a small neighborhood in North Long Beach.

It’s not uncommon to find homes being handed down to future generations. Children and grandchildren of the original residents who return to the neighborhood.

The majority of the homes in the area were built between 1920 and 1940, you will find a rich variety of architecture.

Bixby Knolls has an active local community. There is a theater, home to the Long Beach Shakespeare Company, also the Historical Society of Long Beach. Regular community events, dining and literary clubs and strolls around the neighborhood are favorites of the locals. On the west side of the neighborhood, adjacent to the Los Angeles River, is the large Virginia Country Club, which is also the location of the Rancho Los Cerritos historic site.
